Remember you need a valid firearms licence to own, borrow or purchase a firearm. A POL or PAL will do. POL licences are renewable, however if they expire after the grace period you will have to complete and successfully pass the Canadian Firearms Safety Course. A valid licence is also required to purchase ammunition. Courses are available on a monthly basis, challenges will have to be arranged.

You are required to take the course or successfully challenge the test to obtain a license.
If you are 12 years old or over and have not attained your 18th birthday you must complete the course.

Safety courses are held on a regular monthly schedule. There are over four locations, these are within easy access to main highways.

locations are all hygenic facilities providing all ammenities.

Exclusive pre- teen teenage courses, these are one stop courses combining both the Canadian Firearms safety Course and the Hunter Education courses, This one stop program is over a two day period.

Individuals working shifts on weekends, can take advantage of the weekday courses, these are normally Thursdays and Fridays depending on participation. All challenges must be pre-arranged.

Saftey courses, tests and material prices are as follows.

One Stop: PAL. Non Restricted/Hunter Ed. $220.

Hunter Ed only: $100.

PAL: Non Restricted. $120.

PAL: Restricted $100.

One Stop: PAL: Non Restricted/Restricted $210.

All Challenges: $40.

PAL safety manuals: $5.

Hunter Ed. manuals: $20.

Students are required to have safety hand books and related regulations during courses.

All courses start at 00:800. Lunch provided.

You may register on line using the following table. A deposit is required for all courses at least two weeks in advance.

FIREARMS LICENCE APPLICATIONS FOR INDIVIDUALS.
Since the Possession Only Licence is no longer available to new applicants, form JUS 888 has been discontinued and has been replaced by two forms.

Form CAFC 1038, "Application for a licence under the firearms Act.(POL) (for individuals aged 18 years and over)" is for individuals who are applying to replace a valid Possession Only Licence which is about to expire.

Form CAFC 1039, "Application for a Licence under the firearms Act.(PAL) (for individuals 18 years and over)" is for individuals who wish to obtain a PAL or to replace a PAL or FAC which is about to expire.

Evewryone with a valid POL, PAL or FAC will be sent a licence application before their Licence expires. Individuals may also download a form from the Canadian Firearms web site.http://www.cfc-cafc.gc.ca or phone 1-800-731-400. Forms may be photocopied
